Student Life

Harvey Mudd College

Residential liberal arts colleges, with the community of learning and living they create, offer one of the most transforming environments in which to pursue a college education. At most Annapolis group colleges, some students have the option of living off campus. But the vast majority reside in college housing and, whether they life on or off campus, students focus on the campus experience as an extension of what goes in in the classroom.

Combined with the liberal arts curriculum, the residential experience helps create a learning community that extends well beyond campus boundaries and into the lives of graduates.

A 2002 study of college graduates by the independent research firm Hardwick Day concluded: "Annapolis Group colleges are more effective in providing an actively engaged education than large, public universities — and to a great degree, more effective than large private universities as well."
