Delaware, Ohio — Hailed as "North America's pre-eminent trumpet soloist," Jens Lindemann will conclude Ohio Wesleyan University's 2008-09 Performing Arts Series with a concert at 8 p.m. March 21 in University Hall's Gray Chapel, 61 S. Sandusky Street. The concert also will feature Canadian pianist Jennifer Snow.

Lindemann and Snow will perform works by Debussy, Enesco, Gilliland, de Falla, and Gershwin, with numerous jazz arrangements by Lindemann himself.

Lindemann was classically trained at the renowned Juilliard School in New York and has performed in every major concert venue in the world, including the Philharmonics of New York, Los Angeles, London, and Berlin.

According to the Edmonton Journal: "His ability to attack the highest pitches without ever getting an undesirable sound, his control of dynamics, and that gorgeous, mellow sound make Lindemann a true trumpet virtuoso."

Lindemann has performed as a soloist and a recording artist with classical stars such as Sir Neville Marriner, Sir Angel Romero, Doc Severinsen, Charles Dutoit, Gerard Schwarz, Eiji Oue, Bramwell Tovey, and Jukka Pekka Saraste. He has recorded for BMG, EMI, CBC, and the BBC, earning Grammy and Juno nominations and winning Germany's prestigious Echo Klassik. He recently was named "International Brass Personality of the Year" by the Brass Herald.

Lindemann, who performs exclusively on 24-karat gold-plated trumpets, says the instrument "is capable of being played with the virtuosity of a violin, the tenderness of the human voice, and the stylistic flexibility of the piano. It allows me an endless range of communication with audiences."
