The paintings of Kristopher Benedict will be on exhibit at Dickinson College's Goodyear Gallery February 3-28. An opening reception with the artist will be held at the gallery on Tuesday, February 3, from 5 to 7 p.m. The exhibit, called "The Rat Retires From The World," and reception are free and open to the public. Benedict will be at the opening reception to answer questions and talk about his work.

Benedict's paintings look at the role of the individual in the contemporary urban setting and the changing relationship between public and private space. The Brooklyn, N.Y.-based artist is a former participant in the Dickinson College artist-in-residence program.

The Goodyear Gallery is in the Goodyear Building on West Louther Street. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday, 3 to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 2 to 5 p.m.
