Bowdoin Senior Anna Remillard '08 Awarded DACOR Bacon House Fellowship

Anna Remillard '08 has been chosen to receive a DACOR Bacon House Foundation Fellowship for study in international affairs during the 2008-2009 academic year.

Remillard, of Eagle River, Alaska, an Asian studies major with a minor in French, received funding from DACOR to study rural agrarian and land reform movements in India as part of a master's program at the University of Pennsylvania next year.

Anna says she intends to continue to law school after graduating from Penn, and eventually plans to return to India permanently as a human rights lawyer for lower-caste and tribal people in rural India.

The DACOR (Diplomatic and Consular Officers, Retired) Bacon House Foundation was established for the purpose of contributing to the development of mutual international understanding and the strengthening of ties between the people of the United States and other nations.
